Our Beliefs
The South Shore Inter-Cultural Association (SSICA), since its inception in 2021, has been working tirelessly to engender community harmony and inclusion by means of overcoming the discrimination and ignorance that exists between communities, becoming a catalyst for a social change. To date, it has engineered countless events and projects aimed at fusing the South Shore community harmoniously around the concept of “understanding through interaction”. This model adopted by the South Shore Inter-Cultural Association has been very successful in introducing to South Shore society a new version in the arena of interfaith and inter-cultural relations.
Over the course of the last year the SSICA has cemented great relationships with organizations and individuals who have led their communities in widening their vision and partaking in inter-cultural and interfaith activity exposing them to the values and practices of people from diverse backgrounds.
SSICA has focused on what makes people unite, concentrating on the core values of humanity, and through their networks and campaigning have elevated themselves to the forefront of the South Shore social inclusion platform.
In the future, SSICA will implement numerous social activities such as the South Shore FolkFest series, the establishment of university chairs and lectureships, educational field trips to places of worship, observations of religious occasions, cultural exhibitions, government sponsored projects, professional training programs and interfaith journals, just name a few.
The organization has brought the South Shore a new framework of social interaction based on a yearly planer devised by the board after careful consideration of projects put before them through numerous channels.
